Birgit is a 2002 Appaloosa mare who came to Abiding Sunday via a referral from her owners. She had increased nutritional needs due to her age and the condition of her teeth, needs that her previous owners did not feel equipped to manage. Birgit was used as a riding horse as well as a broodmare in her previous life, providing the world with multiple beautiful foals before her retirement! 

Her name means “Exalted One“, and her personality soaks in every inch of that meaning! And, though she is a stunning horse to behold, there is so much to this mare than her looks. She is very intelligent and engages in every interaction with curiosity. She has figured out how to let herself in and out of just about anywhere and uses her freedom to simply explore her immediate surroundings without straying far from her herd.
